Music
I have been playing guitar on and off since 1976, mainly an acoustic steel string
fingerstyle.
Things changed in 1987, when I spontaneously bought a Telecaster knock-off, a
small Yamaha keyboard, a 4 track recorder and began to compose music. The resulting CD's,
"Infrared" and "Riddle me this" are from 1988-1990. I put it all away for a few years; then
a
bout 2001, with a new keyboard/synth, and an introduction to DADGAD / slack-key tuning , I
began fingerpicking the electric guitar,
and learning some rudimentary keyboards. With the
assistance of a wonderful rhythm sequencer and a computerized mixing board,
in 2002
"Cootie" was born as a result of this new infusion of technology; "No more,No less" came
shortly thereafter in 2004. 95% of the music is original, the rest are a few
classic covers
I found fun to re-arrange. A note on my music making process:
I would rarely write anything
down; instead I would develop each tune
from a blank slate, track by track...starting with
percussion,
adding bass; each instrument added spontaneously while listening to the
previous tracks. The results were magical for me; unfortunately they are all one-offs...I
could never play these songs live again without an enormous amount of practice. They were
great fun to create, I hope you enjoy listening. I have provided several MP3's off each CD,
which you are free to download, should you like them; the entire CD can be found on the
"purchase" link on the home page.
